MUSEUM EVENTS FOR JULY/AUGUST
Yes, we are a little late in sending out our email blast. Dragonfest took up most of our time, however, it was a wonderful event. Everyone said it was like a huge reunion and the atmosphere was amazing. And, in our new location, we have already outgrown it. So, we look for another larger facility for next year.

 

 

July 30, 2016, 4 pm, Cost: $10
TIM TACKETT DAY at the Museum
Let’s all gather together at the Museum, this July 30, 2016, to celebrate the life of a veteran martial arts practitioner and most notably, part of that elite group who trained in Bruce Lee’s concept, Jeet Kune Do. This event is a great opportunity to see old friends and to show appreciation to Tim. It’s only $10 and it starts at 4 pm.

DRAGONFEST VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DINNER – INVITATION ONLY
We are so thankful for the many people who volunteer as staff to work Dragonfest this year. It was a huge success thanks to each of them. And as always, we treat this great people to a dinner to show our thanks. Date and time have not yet been determined.

OFFICIAL LAUNCHING OF “MAKE AN IMPACT” $50 CAMPAIGN
It's time when all of us, over 27,000 known martial arts schools across America. When all of us, martial arts instructors, martial arts students, martial arts movie stars, martial arts enthusiasts, martial arts fans, all come together to help the Museum raise enough funds to move into a larger, grander location. Imagine a theater in the Museum, an exhibit area, a seminar area and enough room to expand our collection, For a minimum of $50, you get your name or school name on the Museum website as we exchange links. Now is the time, this is our 17th year as a Museum, let's all come together for this great cause.

WILLIAM CHRIS FORD Day at the Museum
He’s one of the most gifted martial arts competitor on the tournament circuit. He played a major role in tournament throughout the 1980s. Today, he is considered one of the most respected instructors of traditional Japanese martial arts. He’s a strong supporter of the Museum and a huge fundraiser for St. Jude hospital, Let’s all gather together to honor the life of one of our own, William Chris Ford.

 

September 10, 2017, Time to be Determined, Cost:: $10
AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER DAY
If you love the tv series Avatar: The Last Airbender and Korra, you will love this, The actual creators of the show will be here at the Museum. Including many of the cast, artists, choreographers, characters, voice-overs and more will be honored at the Museum. This is a great time to meet your favorite star, have a Q&A, take photos with them and learn how the entire show took place. This is a very rare opportunity, Don’t miss it,

 

September 17, 2016, 4 pm, Cost: $10
JOHN NATIVIDAD DAY
One cannot talk about the glory days of tournament competition with mentioning the name of John Natividad. Nicknamed the “Giant Killer,” he has defeated the greatest champions of all time. A member of the Chuck Norris team of championship fighters, John completely dominated the circuit. He has appeared on The New Gladiators, he has traveled across the globe fighting he way to victory. Many remember him from the 13-12 bout where he beat Benny Urquidez at the Long Beach International Karate Championships. Don’t miss this day!!!

 

October 1, 2016, 4 pm, Cost: $10
RALPH CASTRO DAY at the Museum
He’s the founder of Chinese Kenpo and one of the most influential martial artists of our generation. Through his efforts, history has been changed for the better. He’s inducted into the Martial Arts History Museum’s HALL OF FAME and continues to play a key role in promoting the arts. We are honored to honor this great pioneer. Join us to celebrate the life of Ralph Castro.
 

October 8, 2016, 4 pm, Cost: $10
MICHELLE MANU DAY at the Museum
She’s one of the coolest and nicest people you will ever meet. Under Solomon Kaihewalu, she has now become one of the biggest advocates for the rare art of Hawaiian Lua in the world. She’s performed all over the nation and has been a strong museum supporter for many years. You can’t miss this event!!! Let’s gather to celebrate Michele Manu!!!!

IMPACT OUR FUTURE” $50 Campaign
If you've been waiting on the sidelines to see if the Museum will work, it has. This is now our 17th year and we need to expand. Schools are now on a waiting list because we don't have the space to do all the tours. Join the martial arts community as we all come together for this one, big push for our new location. Think of it as a $50 advertisement for one year. We will have all the info posted by August 13. Many thanks to Michael Parrella and Fariborz Azhakh for helping to spearhead this campaign.
