Museum Partners with AmazonSmile Charity Foundation

BURBANK, CA - In an effort to improve charitable contributions to eligible non-profit organizations, Amazon, deemed by many as the world's most popular shopping website, launched a unique donation program two years ago that designated funds from the Amazon Foundation to benefit a multitude of non-profit charitable organizations. Entitled “AmazonSmile” the Martial Arts History Museum has just announced it has been accepted into this dynamic, fundraising distribution project.

AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for customers to support their favorite charity every time they shop. There is no cost to the shopper and no additional price increase to their products. For each eligible purchase from Amazon, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to a pre-selected charity.

“We cannot express our gratitude of being accepted into the AmazonSmile program. Many martial arts students use the convenience of Amazon for purchasing martial arts items, shirts and other forms of equipment. AmazonSmile makes it possible for a percentage of every purchase to contributed to the Museum,” says museum founder Michael Matsuda. “People always ask how they can help the museum and become involved; this is how. By selecting the museum as their favorite charity, funds are automatically donated from the Amazon Foundation.”

Although 0.5% is just a small amount, it does make a huge difference when the martial arts community itself becomes involved. In the latest statistics within the martial arts industry, there are over 27,000 known commercial martial arts schools in America alone. This does not include garage schools, park schools, YMCA schools, community center schools and private schools.

“Without a doubt, Amazon is the biggest shopping market on the internet and having such a generous program such as AmazonSmile will do wonders for the Martial Arts History Museum,” says Michael Matsuda, museum president. “It's not easy being a non-profit museum and getting donations is tremendously difficult. Having a program such as this allows others, everyone across the nation, even across the world, to support the museum.”

Then, select the Martial Arts History Museum as your charity. Once selected, Amazon will remember your selection and every time a shopper makes a purchase, funds will be donated to the museum. You only have to do this once. After this, you can go to Amazon the same way you did before. Amazon keeps your selection on file and you just shop the way you normally shop. It's that easy.

“This is a wonderful program and I encourage everyone to be part of it. The museum is here to keep our history alive and your support is needed,” says martial arts historian and writer John Corcoran.

The Martial Arts History Museum is a registered Non-Profit 501(c)(3) Charity Organization and is fully supported by donations, visitation and membership. The museum is located at 2319 W. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank, CA 91506. To access AmazonSmile website, visit:
